About
Born in Manhattan, New York, and raised between Dublin and New York, producer and composer Lang Father began working in Brooklyn’s drill scene in the late 2010s, collaborating with artists such as Fivio Foreign, Sosa Geek, Mikey Polo, and Black Fortune. During the COVID era, Lang signed a production deal with super-producer Timbaland, gaining the opportunity to write and produce for artists ranging from Cardi B to Don Toliver. At the same time, Lang traveled extensively through London, Miami, and Los Angeles, studying the nuances of different hip-hop subgenres that shaped their foundation.
In late 2021, Lang experienced a manic episode and was hospitalized in New York. While committed, they began exploring new ideas rooted in the dance and experimental music they had grown up with—genres such as UK garage, techno, noise, and avant-garde electronic composition. This period marked a turning point: music became deeply personal and therapeutic, a way to rebuild and heal.
Relocating to Berlin in early 2022, Lang immersed themselves in the city’s queer and techno communities, which quickly embraced them. They continued to contribute remotely to the U.S. rap scene, working on independent releases as well as contributing to Fetty Wap’s final album before his prison sentence—a record that also delivered Lang’s highest-charting success to date, debuting at #5 globally on streaming platforms. Alongside this work, Lang honed a singular voice in experimental electronic music: a visceral and deeply personal expression of mental illness, rendered through distortion, relentless rhythms, fractured vocal samples, minimalist aesthetics, and bass-driven intensity. After more than four years of development, Lang is now ready to share this work with the world.
Now, Lang’s focus is expanding. Returning to their roots in classical music and theory, they are exploring composition for film and television. With an emphasis on orchestral writing and traditional instrumentation, Lang blends these foundations with their extensive background in sound design and DAW-based production. Recent projects have included rescoring and re-editing scenes from The Penguin, The Florida Project, The Tree of Life, The Brutalist, and other films—work that has already garnered attention and positive feedback across social media.
Looking forward, the distinction becomes clearer: Lang Father remains the name of the producer and artist working in hip-hop and experimental electronic music, while the composer—born Liam Amoroso-Mesbur—carries that same name into the world of film and television scoring. Two creative paths, one voice, moving in parallel toward the same vision. As they evolve, Liam steps further into composition, shaping their craft for film and beyond, while Lang Father pushes forward within the experimental edges of rap and electronic music. Together, they form a dual presence—artist and composer, instinct and structure—each feeding the other in pursuit of becoming their fullest creative self.
This is the duality of Liam Amoroso-Mesbur and Lang Father: a single vision expressed through two names, moving into new territory without boundaries.
